General terms and conditions

1. Reservation, Confirmation, Payment

Your registration at Robert Saner Carreisen AG or at one of our selected travel agencies be it in writing, by telephone or in person, is binding. Participants registering several persons are liable for their fulfilling the booking. We confirm your registration upon receipt, and you will be sent an invoice at the latest 60 days prior to the date of travel. Payment must be made at least 20 days prior to the date of departure. In case payment is not received in due course we are entitled to withdraw from the contract without compensation and request the cancellation fees in compliance with Item 4.

3. Fuel surcharge

The agreed upon price includes a fuel surcharge calculated up to a maximum price of 1.60 Fr. per litre. In case the fuel price exceeds this amount prior to your journey, the price will subsequently have to be increased.

4. Cancellation/Rebooking

If you cancel your journey up to 60 days prior to the start of your journey, we will request a processing fee of 70.00 Fr. per person, at the most 140.00 Fr. per order, plus fees for telephone and fax. The processing fee is not covered by the cancellation fee insurance. Should you cancel the journey at a later date  – apart from charging the processing fee – we will have to charge the following cancellation fees at a percentage of the overall invoice:

59 – 30 days prior to the date of departure: 20%
29 – 21 days prior to the date of departure: 50%
20 – 08 days prior to the date of departure: 70%
07 – 03 days prior to the date of departure: 90%
02 days prior to the date of travelling 100%

5. Cancellation Fee / Insurance

The mandatory cancellation fee insurance is not included in the inclusive prices and will be charged separately resp. must be agreed upon and signed separately. Once you have signed the insurance contract you will receive the detailed performances of the insurance. If you already have an insurance, you should mention during the booking process that you do not need such an insurance. 

6. Allocation of Seats

The seats are allocated in the order of booking. The seats are allocated for the overall period of the journey. Also vehicles of partner companies may be used. In this case it is possible to change the seats.

7. Change of Programme / Cancellation of Journey

7.1. We reserve the right to change the travel programme should this become necessary in case of unforeseeable or unavoidable circumstances. We endeavour to offer you equivalent replacements. Additional costs will be charged. If you do not accept this journey, we will reimburse the payments already made. 

7.2. A minimum number of participants of 25 passengers are required for our journeys. We reserve the right to cancel the journey at the latest 30 days prior to the date of the start of the journey if the number of participants has not been achieved. The journey will also be cancelled in case of unforeseeable or unavoidable circumstances. 

8. Partner

In case the required date falls in the main season, it may be possible that the journey is carried out by a partner bus company. The rented vehicles will, however, comply with our quality standards and will also offer the same comfort and safety. 

9. Protection Concept COVID-19

The protection concept for the Swiss travelling industry is an integrated part of the contract. The Robert Saner Car-Reisen AG is released from any liability in connection with this protection concept.

10. Complaints

If you wish to claim defects, refunds or compensation from Robert Saner Carreisen AG, you must submit your complaint within 14 days following the agreed upon end of journey in writing. You should attach a confirmation from the bus driver, or the tour guide as well as available proof of evidence (e.g. photos) to your complaint.

11. Liability

Within the scope of our own programme we guarantee that the journeys have been planned and are carried out thoroughly. We are liable for transport performances carried out by us within the scope of legal regulations. We are not liable for any performance failure, reduced services or other non-fulfilments of any kind that have been caused by service providers such as hotels and shipping companies etc., force majeure (wars, fire, strikes etc.), third party faults or faults by participants of the journey. 

12. Ombudsmann

12.1 Before taking a matter to court, you should turn to an independent ombudsman of the travel industry. The ombudsman always strives to settle any kind of problem occurring between you and us or the travel agency where you booked your journey in a fair and well-balanced way.

13. Place of Jurisdiction

It is agreed that Basel is the exclusive place of jurisdiction in case of any legal action against the Robert Saner Carreisen AG, with its main office in Basel. We can sue the customer at his place of living or in Basel.
